A safety prayer ceremony was held at the Niinohama Beach!

 *The sea opening is July 16, 2016. Niinohama Beach is located in the Kita-Nagato Kaigan National Park in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, in the San'in region, on the Sea of Japan coast. It is a small sandy beach with a length of approximately 400 m that is influenced by the warm Tsushima Current. In July 2012, the Ministry of the Environment announced the results of its "2012 Bathing Beach Water Quality Survey," which showed that Niinohama Beach was "one of the beaches with the highest water quality in Japan.The site was selected as one of eight in Japan as a "good bathing beach in theThe beach is a beautiful white, fine sand beach. The gradation of the white, fine sandy beach and the emerald green to cobalt blue ocean is very beautiful. After the bathing season is over, surfing is popular and marine sports can be enjoyed. Large evergreen perennial grasses called "Hamayu" grow in clusters on the sandy beach and usually bloom their pretty white flowers in July and August, when the bathing season is in full bloom. The northern limit of this species on the Sea of Japan side is located at Niinohama in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, so it is not easy to see them further north. Legend of Nichino-hama
It is said that Nijino-no-okochi, a member of the Heike clan who was defeated in the battle of Dannoura between the Genji and Heike clans, threw herself into the sea with the young Emperor Antoku in her arms, and her corpse was washed ashore on this beach by the Kuroshio Current. The corpse was carried by the Kuroshio Current and washed up on this beach.
