Watch the first sunrise at Qinghai Island! The “2018 Takayama New Year’s Eve Sunrise Climb” will be held (1/1/2018)

On New Year's Day 2018, the "2018 Takayama First Sunrise Climb" will be held at Takayama (319 meters above sea level) on Qinghai Island, Nagato City. On the day of the event, participants will gather at the " Takayama Auto Camping Site " by 5:50 a.m., walk to the top of Takayama, and then worship the first sunrise of the year.

Takayama has been selected as one of the " 100 Shimayama (Island Mountains)," a list of attractive mountains located on islands throughout Japan, and is currently attracting much attention. From the summit, you can see Fukagawa Bay and " Nami no Hashidate " to the southwest, and the " Maritime Alps " with its sheer cliffs and many oddly-shaped rocks towering over the sea to the east, making it a superb spot to enjoy the magnificent nature created by the Japan Sea.

This year, a new path to the top has been built so that even children can walk to the top. Participation is free of charge and no advance reservations are required!

・Ozoni + tea set will be sold at the campsite for 200 yen (100 sets are planned. (100 sets will be available. The sale will end as soon as they are gone.)
