Summer in Nagato will begin!

This summer, too, Nagato City will be full of events.

In July, many events are held to enjoy time by the sea, including the annual "Dori Whale Festival" and "Nagato Yacht Festa" as well as the "Nagato Senzaki Fireworks Festival" In August, the "Yumoto Onsen Noryo Bon Dance Festival", "Tawarayama Onsen Noryo Festival", "Aburaya Summer Festival" and other events to enjoy summer nights around the Obon period Yumoto Onsen Noryo Bon Dance Festival, Tawarayama Onsen Noryo Festival, and Aburaya Summer Festival are scheduled for August.

Closing out the summer is the "Western Japan Yakitori Festival in Nagato," a two-day gourmet event where famous yakitori restaurants from western Japan and other parts of Japan gather to enjoy a comparison of one of Nagato City's specialties.

Experience tourism program "Naga Trip" also held

In the summer of 2019, the city will also host Naga Trip 2019, an event with 22 different hands-on tourism programs throughout the city.

Since this year's event is during the summer vacation period, we have prepared a number of programs that can be enjoyed by parents and children as well as families. Please enjoy the unique "experiences" of Nagato City during your summer excursion.

Each program is now accepting participants with a deadline of about one week prior to the event date. For detailed information and application forms, please visit the Naga Trip Experience Reservation Site. (All applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and will be closed when capacity is reached.)
