Enjoy Literature and Food at “OVE” in Minami Aoyama: “Kaneko Misuzu’s Happy Gaze” (9/7)

LIFE CREATION SPACE OVE is a concept store of bicycle parts manufacturer SHIMANO, located in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo. It is a space where you can enjoy new ways to enjoy bicycles, a café, furniture, sundries, art events, and many other things.

Currently, Nagato City is promoting "cycle tourism" in a town where the sounds of the tides, the delicacies of the sea and mountains, and the warmth of hot springs can soothe both body and soul, and is about to launch an initiative called "scatter-riding (riding a bicycle slowly as if taking a walk)" as advocated by OVE.

From these connections, the Nagato City Fair will be held at LIFE CREATION SPACE OVE Minami-Aoyama from September 3 (Tue.) to 29 (Sun.), 2019.

Furthermore, on September 7 (Sat), an event titled "Kaneko Misuzu Happy Gaze," a gathering to enjoy literature and food, is scheduled with Mr. Setsuo Yazaki, director of the Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum, as the guest speaker, where visitors can taste food and local sake from Nagato City.

Please enjoy an evening with a sense of Nagato City as Director Yazaki introduces the works and gaze of Misuzu Kaneko, a visionary children's song poet who was born in Senzaki, Nagato City, and passed away at the young age of 26.

  2. Nagato Seafood Cut Pizza / Heitaro and Kintaro in oil
  3. Choshu chicken and black kashiwa Basque-style pintxos with yuzu kichi yuzu kosho, peasant salt, and red mullet salt (think Japanese yakitori with Spanish regional pintxos, served with a bucket).
  4. Grilled Nagato Vegetables (White Okra and Chiryo Eggplant) and Grilled Uncooked Fish Cake Pinchos
