Traveling Butterfly "Asagimadara

On October 9 (Sat.), we received information that the migratory butterfly "Asagimadara," which is said to travel thousands of kilometers from the Japanese archipelago to the Nansei Islands, had arrived in Japan, and we visited " Hanadan in the Terraced Rice Field " in the Aburatani district of Nagato City.

The "Asagimadara" migrates long distances in search of nectar from the "Fujibakama," one of the seven grasses of autumn.

On this day, more than a dozen were seen flying in. The locals were happy to see them fly in for the first time in a while, as they had not been seen for the past several years.

If you are in the neighborhood, take a peek by the "fujibakama". You can view it until the start of your next trip.

Cosmos" will be at its best soon.

At the "terraced rice field flower terrace," "cosmos," which signal the arrival of autumn, had begun to bloom.

Some areas are at their best, but I have the impression that there are more buds than flowers. Since the weather has been good, the best time to see the flowers is likely to be next week or so.

With the heat gradually easing, the holiday season is finally upon us.

Please continue to take precautions against infection and enjoy sightseeing in NAGATO.
