A selection of 14 of Ms. Misuzu's works published in magazines at the time of the Taisho Era
From February 2 (Wed) to March 30 (Sun), a special exhibition , "Tracing Misuzu's Years through Poems," is being held at the "Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum" in the Senzaki district of Nagato City.
This special exhibition focuses on "magazine submissions" that led the children's song poet Misuzu Kaneko to discover the talents of Saijo Hachijo and Kitahara Hakushu. 14 of Misuzu's works that were published in magazines have been selected for exhibition.
At the exhibition, eight actual magazines in which her poems appeared are on display, along with a panel board with explanations.
The publication dates of the magazines also give us an idea of when the works were created. The magazines from the Taisho period are rarely exhibited for preservation purposes, so please come and see them for yourself.
In addition, on February 20 (Sun) and March 13 (Sun), a gallery talk by a curator of the Misuzu Memorial Museum will be held (11:00-11:30 on both days).
