The rocky coastline of the Sea of Japan in winter with strong northerly winds is well captured. The rocky surfaces and the spray from the surging waves are well rendered in subdued tones.
The "Nagato City Tourism Photo Contest - Nagato Original Scenery" is open to any theme, as long as the material can best convey the charm of Nagato City as a tourist destination (Nagato, a city that plays on the Japanese spirit of "Kindness"), including natural scenery, traditional culture, events, and food. Entries are open to anyone residing in Japan who can responsibly submit an original work that does not infringe on the rights or privacy of others. From the monthly entries, a monthly award, a runner-up, and three prizes will be selected, and finally, one grand prix will be selected from among up to three prizewinning entries each month.
