Nagato City in Yamaguchi Prefecture is one of the "seven major yakitori towns in Japan," and because of its thriving poultry farming industry, chicken that is cured in the morning can be eaten as yakitori at night!
Fresh yakitori is eaten salted, with garlic powder as a condiment, or with sweet onions stuck between the meat instead of green onions.

In Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the "Mecca of Yakitori", a new "Yakitori Chef Experience Tour" has begun!
You can experience the history of yakitori, skewering, and grilling at an actual yakitori restaurant.

Mr. Watanabe, a former member of the Hiroshima Carp, also struggled with skewering!

Next to skewering, we make a blend of "yakitori salt"!
We have locally produced natural salt "Hyakusyoan no Shio" andNagato Agresto "Garlic Powder" available!
You can also make your own "yakitori salt" from a variety of other condiments such as basil, ichimi, lemon powder, green tea, curry powder, etc!
Mr. Watanabe, a former Hiroshima Carp player, is surprisingly cautious, while Mr. Ito is more dynamic!
I guess making things shows your personality.

And finally, the last step is to grill the yakitori over charcoal!
Yakitori restaurants are hard at work preparing the skewers throughout lunchtime!
Overwhelmed by the smoke, we learn from Mr. Aomura of "Yakitori-ya Chikuzen Sohonten" who has been in this business for 20 years!

Finally, we pour our own personal "yakitori salt" over the yakitori we have painstakingly prepared, and toast with a draft beer!
