Stay up to date on the Higashi Gohata terraced rice paddies

The Higashi Gobata terraced rice paddies in the Higashi Gobata district of Aburaya, Nagato City, have been selected as one of the "100 best terraced rice paddies in Japan." Many photographers visit this spot every year to see the setting sun and countless fishing fires at the same time. This page provides the latest information on Higashigobata terraced rice fields.

Status as of Friday, June 1

Water level 70% (well within sight)

Number of fishing fires: about 5 vessels (as of 20:00)

View from the viewpoint at 19:05. (Sunset is around 19:20)

The fishing lights start to light up around 7:40pm. About 5 boats were seen that day.

parking lot

The parking lot is located on the west side of the viewpoint, about 200 meters walk to the photo shoot.

The viewpoint is marked by a pavilion.
