The 48th Aburaya Summer Festival

On Tuesday, August 14, the 48th holding of the "Aburaya Summer Festival: Hibikiben Matsuri" began in the vicinity of Aburaya Sports Park as the sun began to set.

It is the largest summer event in the Aburaya area, held every year with the hope that not only people in the Aburaya area, but also those within the prefecture and those who return to their hometowns in the summer, will learn about and enjoy the good qualities of their hometowns.

Children's All-out Stage

The adjacent Aburaya Workers' Sports Center will host the "KIDS⭐︎CARNIVAL," in which children and students from the city will grace the stage.

Opening the event was a taiko performance by the Takumi Club.

Children of various grades performed energetic dances on the stage of the "Nagato Street Dance Club" following the event.

They worked hard while sweating profusely. After each song, the audience applauded loudly.

Now in its 17th year, the "Aburatani Children's Musical" has been enchanting the audience with their synchronized singing and dancing, and they are practicing daily for the performance "Santa Claus is Alive" scheduled for December 16 (Sunday) at La Pole Yuya.

The heavy bass sound echoed through the museum. The stage was also enlivened by a powerful performance by the Konamikai, a Japanese drumming group active in the Hioki area.

Yakitori is indispensable

Stalls line the aisle in front of the Workers' Sports Center. One tent was particularly popular with a long line of people.
