Kick-off Symposium for Nagato Yumoto Onsen Tourism Community Development will be held!

In Nagato Yumoto Onsen, a community-led tourism town development project that brings together the public and private sectors has begun in earnest. As the first step, a kick-off symposium will be held. The symposium will feature a keynote speech by Counselor Murakami, a key person for regional development from the Cabinet Secretariat, on the background of the need for regional development and the potential of the region, as well as a panel discussion on the future of Nagato Yumoto Onsen with Mr. Hoshino, representative of Hoshino Resort, a leader in the tourism industry in Japan. A panel discussion will be held on the future of Nagato Yumoto Onsen. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of Nagato Yumoto Onsen together. We look forward to seeing all those who would like to be involved in the future of Nagato Yumoto Onsen.

Theme: Challenges in Creating Local Work

Keisuke Murakami, Cabinet Counselor, Secretariat of the Town, People, and Work Creation Headquarters, Cabinet Secretariat After graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1990, he joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. He was involved in the Gulf crisis response, negotiations for the Global Warming Prevention Treaty, and legislative work on the PL Law. He then spent 10 years in the IT industry from the government's point of view, working on the planning of the e-Japan strategy and other projects. Later, he was in charge of the launch of Cool Japan, international negotiations for the Convention on Climate Change (COP15 and COP16), and the launch of a feed-in tariff for renewable energy, and has been in his current position since 2014. He has been appointed to regional development work and is working hard to accelerate the process. He is currently re-editing the interim summary of the Council for Regional Job Creation into "Challenges for Regional Job Creation" and disseminating the results to date.
