Exhibition "Flowers that Color the Seasons" at the Yasuo Kouzuki Museum of Art!

The Botanical Illustrations of Yasuo Kagetsu
Yasuo Kagetsu was a painter born in Misumi, present-day Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, in 1911.
After the war, he was interned in Siberia by the Soviet Army for about two years, and did not return to Japan until 1947.
After returning to Japan, Kagetsu continued his creative activities based in his hometown of Misumi.
As a result, many of the plants and insects that live and breathe in his hometown appear in his paintings.
In his later years, Kougetsu also frequently visited foreign countries and painted many of the landscapes and plants he found on his travels.
This exhibition introduces "flowers of the season" found in her hometown and on her travels.
The familiar, simple appearance of these flowers will warmly impress the viewer.
