~Poetry and calligraphy that resonate with each other

The special exhibition "Shoko Kanazawa Exhibition - Hibiki Au Poem and Calligraphy -" will be held at the Prefectural Theater "Renessa Nagato".
Misuzu Kaneko, a children's song poet, breathed life into small objects around her and left poems full of tenderness.
Her deep gaze, which says, "Nothing in this world is useless," has captured the hearts of many of her fans.
Shoko Kanazawa, born in 1985, is a calligrapher who studied under her mother Yasuko despite her handicap of Down's syndrome. Her calligraphy has spread overseas, including her writing on the title of the historical drama "Taira no Kiyomori," giving a speech at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and holding solo exhibitions, giving us the courage and kindness to live.
In 1984, when "The Complete Works of Misuzu Kaneko" was published, Yasuko, who was pregnant with Shoko, was struck by a passage from one of Misuzu's poems and acquired the complete works. Shoko's growth was always accompanied by Misuzu's poems.
The two were from completely different eras and had different ways of expressing themselves. When their works meet, we are amazed at how their souls resonate with each other.
In this exhibition, we will showcase the world of poetry and calligraphy that resonate with each other, with a focus on works written on passages of Misuzu's poems and symbolic characters.
