Carp streamers swimming above the Onshin River

On the Otosoregawa River, which winds through the hot spring resort of Nagato Yumoto, carp streamers swim gracefully on the river in anticipation of Children's Day on May 5.

This is an annual effort by local volunteers, and this year, approximately 20 red, blue, and black carp streamers are decorating the hot spring resort.

The location is near the Otozure Footbath along the Otoshin River Trail. While enjoying the foot and hand baths, be sure to look up at the carp streamers soaring in the sky.

The carp streamers will be in place until Sunday, May 6.
