Koutokuji Temple welcomes approximately 3,000 hydrangea plants
The main deity is Shakyamuni Buddha. Originally called Koutoku-an, the temple was renamed Koutoku-an after the merger with Kaitoku-ji in 1903, and was renamed Koutoku-ji in the Showa period (1926-1989). The temple is also known as "Hydrangea Temple," and is famous for its hydrangeas.
