Shinju no Yu," a symbol of Nagato Yumoto Onsen
Nagato Yumoto Onsen is said to have been discovered about 600 years ago by Zenji Teian of Taineiji Temple, who received a blessing from Sumiyoshi-daimyojin. The baths are built directly above the source of the spring, and the view of the hot spring water gushing from the bedrock, together with the statue of Sumiyoshi-daimyojin sitting on top of the bedrock, create a mysterious atmosphere in this stopover hot spring. After bathing, visitors can relax in the open-air rest area with glass walls on three sides, enjoying the view of the Otozure River.
