Community Revitalization Art Event Using Closed School

On Sunday, October 27, 2024, "a-go 2024" was held in the Tori area of Qinghai Island. a-go 2024" is a community revitalization art event that utilizes the former Dori Junior High School, which was closed down. Handmade artists and restaurants from the city and abroad set up store in the school building and gymnasium. This article provides photos of the event.

Event-only "Qinghai Island Tourist Steamer" to Dori

The venue could be reached directly by car or near the old Tong Junior High School with the help of the "Qinghai Island Tourist Steamer" that departs from Senzaki.

It operated from 10:00 to 16:00, allowing visitors to enjoy a short boat trip between Senzaki and Dori.

Stores were lined up in various classrooms from the first to the third floor.

Many community members are involved in the event management as volunteer staff.

Outdoors and gymnasium

In front of the gymnasium, various kitchen cars from around the city opened their stalls, each with its own lineup.

The gymnasium is lined with stores offering food and beverages, massages, and other services. In addition, an eat-in space was set up and live painting performances were held, allowing visitors to spend their time as they pleased.
