On September 11 (Sun), the "Akasaki Festival" was held in the vicinity of Akasaki Shrine in Higashifukagawa, Nagato City. This festival has been held for many years in the community, and "Raku Odori" and "Yumoto Nanjo Odori" are dedicated as Shinto rituals at the "Raku-janjiki," a nationally important folk cultural asset. The Akasaki Festival has been canceled due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus, but this year it will be held for the first time in three years. Here we report on the festival and the "Yumoto Nanjo Odori" held at Nagato Yumoto Onsen after the festival.
At the beginning of the entire festival, a Shinto ritual is dedicated at the main shrine of Akasaki Shrine.
The Kabuki play "Shomyo-shi Shiki Sanbaso" was performed on the stage of the Grand near the Raku-jiki.
Raku Odori (dance dedicated in the rice planting ritual) will be demonstrated by local community members in the Raku-zanjiki.
This was followed by the dedication of the "Yumoto Nanjo Odori" by the people of Nagato Yumoto.
On this day, after the dedication at the Akasaki Festival, "Yumoto Nanjo Odori" was also dedicated in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area.
