Enjoy "This Spring

It is called "sanso," which means to ride a bicycle as if for a walk, and enjoy encounters and discoveries that are unique to the place and the time of year.

Since last year, the staff of the tourist information center "YUKUTE" has been running the plan several times.

We had planned to invite a wide range of participants to enjoy a four-season bicycle trip this spring, but the spread of the new coronavirus infection has made it difficult to hold the event.

Therefore, we have decided to record this event so that people can enjoy the cherry blossoms of "this spring" by bicycle, and want to participate in the "Cherry Blossom Tour Scatter Run" in "the coming spring" or want to ride a bicycle along this route.

The "Cherry Blossom Tour" planned this time is a course to enjoy cherry blossoms at " Tsukimi River Park " and " Goshobaru Grand Shrine " in the Fukagawa district of Nagato City.

First, check the course before starting.

Choose an old road with less traffic and drive on it.

On the way, we stopped at "MUCHO," a hamburger specialty restaurant, to get lunch to eat at the river park.

I chose a bacon cheeseburger and a teriyaki egg burger, loaded them into my bike basket, and went for another ride.

Cherry blossom viewing lunch at Kangetsu River Park

Kangetsu River Park, located at the mouth of the Fukagawa River, is known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, and is visited by many people every year.

Upon arrival, I immediately tucked into a hamburger while admiring the cherry blossoms in full bloom.

It was a great time for a cherry blossom viewing lunch under a clear spring sky while listening to birds chirping.

After lunch, we strolled along the riverside promenade as we pleased. They were able to take memorable pictures of the cherry blossoms.

Visit a historic shrine

After leaving Kangetsu River Park, the next stop was the Goshobaru Grand Shrine, which is dedicated to a number of deities.

The shrine is well known by the locals as a cherry blossom viewing spot.

I received the red seal while praying that the spread of the new coronavirus infection would be stopped as soon as possible, and that peaceful daily life would return.

On the way home after enjoying the cherry blossoms at the two locations, we stopped by Muraoka Kogetsudo for a snack.

The long-established Japanese confectionary store, which has been in business for 120 years and continues to pass down its handmade taste to the present, also has a coffee shop corner where you can enjoy matcha green tea, Japanese sweets, cake sets, and other sweet treats.

Enjoying the scenery and local delicacies unique to this time of year, the Cherry Blossom Tour Scattering Run comes to an end.

The cherry blossoms in Nagato City will surely bloom beautifully in the "coming spring" as well.

We hope many of you will enjoy this course next year.
