On Monday, November 25, a bicycle exchange event was held at Nagato Municipal Hioki Elementary School between the Shimano Racing bicycle road race team and 3rd and 4th grade students of the school.

The team was a guest rider in the cycling event "Nagano Blue Ocean Ride with Akiyoshidai" held on Saturday, November 23. Naogo Ichimaru, Ryo Minato, Sakiya Kuroeda, and Yuiaki Nakai appeared at the call of Director Hidenori Notera, and were welcomed by the children with applause.

First, Director Notera introduced the sport of road racing, the athletes who belong to the team, and a video of the All Japan Cycling Championships Road Race, which was won by Shotaro Iribe in June of this year.

The children were then divided into two groups and were given explanations by the riders while they touched the bicycles and tried on helmets and sunglasses.

At the end of the event, everyone received a signed postcard, each carefully drawn and signed by the artist.

The 45-minute social event was full of smiles.

Director Notera told the children, "The reason these athletes have made it this far is because they just love bicycles. I hope everyone will find something they can love and work hard at it. Your world will expand, and your dreams will come true.

The "Nagano Blue Ocean Ride with Akiyoshidai," in which Shimano Racing riders rode through Nagato City and Mine City as guest riders, can be viewed in the event report at the link below. Please take a look at the day when about 400 people enjoyed the spectacular scenery and food under the bluest blue sky in history.
