On the cover is the Canadian team walking in Tawarayama Onsen

We are pleased to announce the completion of vol. 4 of "Nanavi Paper," the newsletter of the Nagato City Tourism & Convention Association.

On the cover of this issue is the Canadian National Team for the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, which spent the period from Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 22 in Nagato City, the official camp site, and enjoyed a walking tour of Tawarayama Onsen and soba noodle making as part of the experience tour on their rest days.

This is the fourth volume of a four-page, A4-size booklet that introduces the activities of the association since its first issue in June last year.

This issue features the "Nagato Tourism Concierge Training Course," which started this June. The course consists of two parts: a "Basic Course" to acquire knowledge of tourism resources and a "Hospitality Course" to enhance hospitality skills. The "Basic Course" has already been completed, and the "Hospitality Course" is scheduled to start in December.

In addition, the Nagato International Tourism Promotion Council, for which the association serves as the secretariat, is currently implementing a project to subsidize a portion of the expenses necessary for accepting foreign visitors to Japan on the occasion of the Rugby World Cup. We are still accepting applications from businesses, so please apply if you are considering putting up menus in foreign languages or installing translation equipment.

On the last page, we introduce the cycling event "Nagato Blue Ocean Ride with Akiyoshidai" to be held on Saturday, November 23. A record number of 460 people have already entered this event, and we are currently looking for sponsors and volunteers who can help us make the event a success.

The newsletter is available at the tourist information center "YUKUTE" in Senza Kitchen, Roadside Station, or you can view the PDF version below. Please take a look at the various efforts to support tourism in Nagato City in this paper.
