Nagato Yuzukichi no Yu” footbath is now open at Nagato Yumoto Onsen (12/21, 22).

An annual event to warm up in the hot water of "Nagato Yuzukichi" on the winter solstice.

On December 21 (Tue.) and 22 (Wed.), "Nagato Yuzukichi no Yu" will be open at "Otoshin River River Park Ashiyu" and "Otosore Ashiyu" in Nagato Yumoto Hot Spring Resort area.

This is an annual event held by Nagato City, following the custom of yuzu yuzu baths held on the winter solstice, in which specialty product Nagato Yuzukichi is used in the yuzu baths.

(About 700 yuzukichi from Tawarayama are placed in the footbath at Ondonokawa River Park.

Nagato Yuzukichi" is an aromatic citrus with a fresh aroma and mild acidity. This year, it attracted attention when Sota Fujii, a Shogi player, ate a chiffon cake made with Yuzukichi as a snack during a game.

The green Nagato Yuzukichi are shipped from late summer to fall, but the matured ones turn bright yellow and are called "Nagato Yuzukichi Komachi. On December 22 (Wed.), a yuzu bath using Nagato Yuzukichi will be held in the open-air bath at the Yumen Fureai Center. Please take advantage of this opportunity as well.
