Higashi Ushirobata Terraced Rice Fields: Water Filling and Fishing Fire Status 2026 (Updated 4/27)

Higashi Gobata Terraced Paddy Fields in the Aburaya district of Nagato City has been selected as one of the "Linking Terraced Paddy Fields Heritage" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.

Many tourists and photographers visit this spot every year during the season from late May to early June to enjoy the scenery of terraced rice paddies and the Sea of Japan, and to see the fishing fires of squid fishing boats at night at the same time.
