Senzaki season declaration Senzaki Butoika” is in effect for 2023!

Thick-fleshed and full of umami, kensaki squid

The "Senzaki Season Declaration Senzaki Butoika" is now in effect from the Nagato Supervisory Branch of the Yamaguchi Prefectural Fisheries Cooperative Association. Senzaki Butoika" is a brand of squid landed at Senzaki Fishing Port, which is in season from October to December every year. It is issued by three expert connoisseurs appointed by the Nagato City Council for the Promotion of Fisheries Products Demand Expansion.

The squid of this season has a thicker, rounder body and tastes even better. The squid is sold at Senzaki Butoika (roadside station) Senza Kitchen and at supermarkets in the city, with a special "Senzaki Butoika" seal attached.

The best way to eat it is as sashimi. Please try the Senzaki Buto Ika, which is chewy and full of flavor!
