First "Otosore River Festa" held after the renewal of the hot spring resort
Otosore River Festa 2021 " is being held in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area for the first time in three years.
This event will be held for two days, today [Saturday, July 17] and tomorrow [Sunday, July 18]. Along the Otosoregawa River, which runs through the center of the hot spring resort, various stores will be lined up in five different areas.
The first place we visited was the "Cape Sauna Area. Several tents are lined up in this space to enjoy sauna with priority given to reservations.
What a luxurious time to cool down in the "Daneiji River" flowing in front of you.
The area also had spicy curries and beverages for sale.
About an hour after the event began, the light rain that had been drizzling before the start of the event stopped.
Visitors close their umbrellas and enjoy a gentle stroll.
The next stop was the "Otosori Area.
I peeked into a store where a line had formed and found "fruit syrup juice" being sold. It is served with soda or milk.
From ordering to receiving the food, there is a lively conversation between the shoppers and visitors.
Since this event was held for the first time in three years, the interaction was unique to an event where stores and customers face each other directly, telling each other how much they had been looking forward to the event and rejoicing to see each other again after a long absence.
Across the river at Hoshino Resort Kai Nagato, the "Akebono Cafe" is now open for use by non-guests.
Visitors could be seen relaxing on benches set up in front of the stores.
The third area is the Ichinose Area.
Here, a portrait drawing was being done by illustrator Shingo Ozaki.
After crossing the Ichinose Bridge at the end of the hot spring resort area, turn back to the event area and head to the fourth "Namiki Area".
Here, each of the three stores had its own line.
At a store selling "South Indian Curry," visitors watched with great interest as the ingredients were served.
Perhaps because the menu is unfamiliar to them, some of them ask how spicy it is and how to eat it.
Customers who received their curry enjoyed it at tables and benches provided nearby.
The last area we visited was the Onyu area, located in the center of the hot spring resort.
In addition to the " On-yu " (drop-in hot spring) and " On-yu Meal," there was also a "Yumoto Cheki" (Cheki rental service) and target shooting.
There were occasional light rain showers, but they stopped completely by the latter half of the event, and more children played on the stepping stones and in the Ondonokawa River.
We also stopped by 365+1 BEER (San Lok Lok Beer), which opened today and was crowded with customers.

Concurrent cycling event "Nagato Scatter Ride
The first cycling event in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area, " Nagato Scatter Ride - Tsuda Farm Blueberry Ride x YUMO±0 " was also held.
Participants will travel from Nagato Yumoto Onsen town through the mountains to visit Tsuda Farm, a popular orchard in the Tawarayama district of Nagato City, and then back to Nagato Yumoto Onsen.
After enjoying a 15-km bike ride, participants tried their hand at making "my sweets" using blueberries purchased at Tsuda Farm.
We spread out a table outside the Bansekitei Pavilion at the Daneiji Temple.
Sweets making is done according to the recipe on the postcard.
I also grind blueberries and whip cream with a whipper.
Once the shapes are in place and decorated, each individual's personality gradually shines through.
At first everyone was bustling about, but as their concentration increased, they gradually became more serious and quieter.
Finally, a summery watermelon parasol is erected to complete the project.
After taking pictures of the "my sweets," we enjoyed them right away.
After a hard day of cycling, there was no need to worry about "sugar...calories..." plus or minus zero. We had a great time with the combination of bicycles and sweets.
