JAL Classic Japan Rally 2019″ 4 Days of Classic Cars

The JAL Classic Japan Rally 2019 HIRADO (JAL Classic Japan Rally 2019 Hirado), a classic car driving event, was held for four days from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1 in Nagasaki, Saga, Fukuoka, and Yamaguchi prefectures.

One classic car will be occupied by two people: a driver and an assistant co-driver.

In the classic car rally, which is a competition of skill rather than speed, times are measured to the nearest 1/1000th of a second for a given segment, and rankings are determined by overall points. The competition tests not only driving skills, but also the co-driver's navigation and time management.

This year's event featured 26 sports-type classic cars manufactured mainly in Europe between 1926 and 1973. They departed from Fukuoka Prefecture on Thursday, November 28, the first day of the event, and after touring Nagasaki and Saga Prefectures, entered Yamaguchi Prefecture in the afternoon of Saturday, November 30, the third day of the event.

On the morning of December 1 (Sunday), the fourth day of the event, classic cars appeared on the Qinghai Bridge heading for Qinghai Island in Nagato City.

Cars returning from Qinghai Island go directly to Senzaki Misuzu Street.

About 50 people, including members of the community, waved flags to welcome the classic car.

After receiving a commemorative gift in front of the Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum, participants then proceeded to "Motonosumi Shrine" and "Kakunoshima Ohashi Bridge", breaking the winter wind.

Romantic classic cars look great on Misuzu Street, which has a retro atmosphere.

The final leg of the rally was via Shimonoseki City, with the finishing line at Mojiko Retro in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. For more information on the participating vehicles and results, please visit the JAL Classic Japan Rally 2019 HIRADO website.
