Tanada rice snacks are now available!

In anticipation of PR for the 25th National Tanada (Thousand Rice Terraces) Summit to be held in Nagato City from October 12 (Sat.) to 14 (Mon.), 2019, and as a souvenir during the event, the Nagato City Tourism and Convention Association has developed a confectionary using rice from terraced rice paddies.

This snack was sold in limited quantities in advance for about 10 days at the end of last year. On March 27 (Wednesday), 200 days before the summit, full-scale sales began at the tourist information center "YUKUTE" in Senza Kitchen, Roadside Station.

Three kinds of "Rice Sweets

Rice Words (sea salt, local sake, Nagato Yuzukichi)

The dough is made of rice flour from rice terraces and filled with white cream.

There are three flavors: "sea salt" is salt produced at "Hyakusoan" in the Mukozugu area, and "Jizake" is "Horebore," a local sake from Tawarayama. Nagato Yuzukichi is an original citrus fruit from Yamaguchi Prefecture, with a refreshing sour taste.

The more you bite into this rusk, the more you can taste the sweetness and aroma of the terraced rice. It comes in a mix of three types: matcha, kinako (soybean flour), and plain.
