The Tawarayama Rhododendron Garden has begun to bloom. The flowers are currently at about three minutes in bloom, but can be enjoyed together with the cherry blossoms. The late Tetsuo Kanekawa fell in love with potted rhododendrons he saw in a supermarket around 1970, and continued to plant them steadily in the hills behind his house and in fallow fields. During the flowering season, volunteers sell local products, and after the season, many volunteers participate in the "flower picking" event. The magnificent rhododendron orchard is carefully protected by the local people. If you visit, we recommend that you take a bath in Tawarayama Onsen (hot spring) and return home. Location
