Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum] Exhibition “Trial and Error in Poetry Making” (～6/29)

A close look at Misuzu's poetry through her "handwriting

The exhibition "Trial and Error in Poetry Making" is currently being held at the Misuzu Kaneko Memorial Museum in the Senzaki district (until June 29 [Thursday]).

Here, 15 poems from the three "Posthumous Manuscript Notebooks" containing 512 poems by Misuzu are selected and explained based on the image data of her handwriting (*). (*) The handwritten letters reveal what kind of thoughts she had in mind when she created her works and her attitude toward them.

(*)The real notebook is deteriorating and the contents cannot be seen directly at present.

The display boxes also display children's literature magazines and women's magazines from the time when Ms. Misuzu's poems were submitted.

On May 14 (Sun), a curatorial lecture "Senzaki Historical Walk, the hometown of the children's song poet, Misuzu Kaneko" will also be held. Gallery talks on each exhibition will be held at "Historia Nagato" and "Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum", followed by a town walk in Senzaki. Please join us!
