On December 15 (Wed.), " Motonosumi Shrine Light-up: Souryu Ikkai - Winter", a light-up event at Motonosumi Shrine, one of the most popular tourist spots in Nagato City, began.
This event will be held for five days only, from today [Wednesday, December 15] to Sunday, December 19.
On this page, we report on the first day of the Motonosumi Shrine, which is illuminated using the latest technology.
A little after 5:30 p.m., visitors who had purchased 6:00 p.m. entrance tickets arrived at Motonosumi Shrine at night one after another.
At the reception desk, after taking temperature and hand sanitizing infection control measures, visitors present their electronic tickets and receive a shiny wristband exclusively for spectators.
Then, at 6:00 p.m., the event start time. Motonosumi Shrine 's first light-up event, " Motonosumi Shrine Light-up: Souryu Ikkai - Winter" began.
The 123 torii gates are illuminated with colorful lights, as if the gates were living dragon gods.
The venue was not only illuminated, but also featured moving lasers, music played to accompany the lights, and fishing fires appearing in the ocean.
A trick that brings change before your eyes one after another.
As the event's catchphrase "swallowed by the dragon god" suggests, you will be swallowed into this very space.
After viewing Motonosumi Shrine from above, we went inside the torii gate.
The 123 torii gates take the form of dragon gods, so the inside of the torii is the womb of the dragon god. We were led in as if we were being sucked in.
With lights moving in various patterns, music that makes you feel as if you are in the womb, and the timing of total darkness at some points along the way, the inside of the torii gate is like an attraction.
Spectators enjoyed taking pictures at their favorite places.
Among them, many visitors took commemorative photos at the Otorii after passing through the 123 torii gates.
During the day, the red of the torii gate, the blue of the sky and sea, and the green of the grass and trees make a wonderful contrast at Motonosumi Shrine.
This was the first time it was illuminated, and with so many colors and so much brilliance, it seemed like a kaleidoscopic world.
We hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy Motonosumi Shrine at night and pay attention to " Motonosumi Shrine Light-up: Souryu Ikkai - Winter".
The road to Motonosumi Shrine is very narrow and there are places where it is difficult to separate from the road. Please drive safely and follow the instructions of security guards and staff.
