Nagato Toy Museum of Art Reaches 100,000 Visitors

Commemorative event held about 4 years after opening, attended by the mayor of Nagato City.

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, an event commemorating the 100,000th visitor was held at the "Nagato Toy Museum of Art" in Senzaki, Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Nagato Toy Museum of Art" is a facility that opened in April 2018 on the same site as "Roadside Station Senza Kitchen" and attracts many visitors not only from within the city but also from outside the prefecture thanks to its toys and facilities built with the warmth of wood.

The 100,000th visitor was a visitor from Hiroshima Prefecture, who received a bouquet of flowers from Nagato City Mayor Ehara and a commemorative gift from Mr. Iwamoto, chairman of the NPO "Hito to Ki" (People and Trees), which operates the facility.

(Commemorative gift is a wooden train set with the design of "00 no hanashi," a sightseeing train running on the JR Sanin Line/Sanyo Main Line.

Mayor Ehara said, "I am happy to have achieved 100,000 visitors. I hope that Nagato City will continue to promote wood education and create a town that will be chosen by the child-rearing generation. Mayor Ehara commented, "I am happy to see the number of visitors reach 100,000.

Chairman Iwamoto also commented, "Although Corona had a great impact on us, we were able to reach 100,000 children in this way. We will continue to do our best for children, paying attention to safety and security. At the same time, we would like to expand the interaction between trees and people beyond just playing, such as using wooden toys to interact with the elderly. He expressed his joy and aspirations for the future.

The "Nagato Toy Museum of Art" is expanding more and more. It will continue to attract attention as a base for wood education in Nagato City and the surrounding area.
