Nagato Yumoto with 4 photographers

On June 3 (Sun.), when the leaves were bright green, four amateur photographers from Yamaguchi Prefecture gathered in Nagato Yumoto with cameras in hand for the "YUMOTO PHOTO" event. The event report "YUMOTO PHOTO: A Treasure Hunt in Nagato Yumoto" introduced the event, and now we have received the photos developed by the four photographers.

Everyone held a film camera in their hands. Unlike digital cameras, the photographers took their time to compose their shots and release the shutter, taking care to take each one carefully.

Beginning at Nagato Yumoto Station

The first word was "retro atmosphere." The first one was taken at the platform of Nagato Yumoto Station, and we started walking toward the hot spring resort area.

The age-old curved mirrors also accentuate the photo.

Red parapet that adds color

A number of bridges span the Onshin River, which winds through the hot spring resort area. The red parapets, which evoke a nostalgic feeling, add color to the photos.

The view reflected in the glass doors of the inn is also fresh.

A boardwalk where you can feel the flow of the river.

Sitting on the sunken bridge, you're "so close!" You feel like you are floating on the river.

Stepping stones and bus stops

The "Wild Geese Plaza" and "Stepping Stones," both of which were newly developed in the spring, were the most "enjoyable" spots of the day. Standing, sitting, or riding on the stepping stones, we took shutterbugs from various angles.

Visitors can look up at the "Kirakira Bridge," a wooden bridge with an impressive roof, and view the stepping stones from the top of the bridge. The stairs leading to and from the bridge and steppingstones are also colored by the sunlight filtering through the trees, and people say, "It's so beautiful.

And here was another spot that captured the hearts of the participants.

That is the bus stop at Yumoto Onsen.

It blends in with the surrounding nature." "It's nice to see the river through the glass."

The blue sky that day, with the silhouette of the window frame clearly visible, was perhaps one of the most impressive factors.

A footbath and café to take a breather

A healing time awaits participants who have circled around the hot spring resort.

First, take a break at the footbath in Otonoshigawa River Park. Yumoto Onsen's tenugui (hand towel) has a reputation for its "nostalgic atmosphere.

After recovering from the fatigue of walking about 3 km, visitors can take a rest at "cafe&pottery sound".

Cold drinks, cheesecake and gateau chocolates. We spent a blissful moment flowing slowly as we watched from the "oriza" the path we have taken so far.

This time, we started from Nagato Yumoto Station and enjoyed shooting in early summer around the hot spring resort area.

Since September, Nagato Yumoto Onsen has been conducting a "social experiment" by setting up "kawadoko/oki-za" to enjoy the river, lighting up "Yumoto lanterns" and bridges to decorate the night, and using part of the road for booths and resting spaces.

In addition, the Otosori River Festa 2018 will be held for three days from September 15 (Sat.) to 17 (Mon.), bringing together a variety of restaurants and workshops to give visitors a taste of the spa town of the future.

During the event, a "photo contest" utilizing the photo posting application "Instagram" will also be held. Why not visit Nagato Yumoto with a camera in hand for a more photogenic experience?
