Season of "iwagaki" (rock oysters), a delicacy of the sea on Nagato and Aomi Island, has started.

Semura Oysters, rock oysters grown on Qinghai Island, are on sale at various locations in the city until Friday, October 31, 2025. Iwagaki oysters grown in the beautiful sea have large meat and rich taste. The best time to eat them is from spring to fall, so be sure to try them.

Main sales locations

Aomi Island Iwakaki Oyster Enterprise Association (38-2 Dori, Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture/In Restaurant Oki Chidori)
Michi no Eki Senza Kitchen direct sales shop (4297-1 Senzaki, Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture)

 

On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the Iwagaki stall "Semura-go" is also open outside the Senza Kitchen at the Roadside Station.
Sales hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Iwagaki (rock oysters), hiwagai (dried clams) and turban shells will be served over charcoal grill.
