The Old Map Walk is about to begin!

The "Let's Walk Around Town with an Old Map in Your Hand," which was very popular last year, will be held again this year. will start again this year.

Four courses are available in Nagato City. Please note that participation fees and application deadlines are different for each course.

Let's walk the streets with an old map in hand." is

The "Old Map Town Walk" is a guided walk where visitors can trace the history and explore the town with a local guide while viewing beautiful old maps produced by the Choshu Clan's cartographer.

Walking around the town with an old map in hand and thinking about the streets, townscapes, and people's lives in the past, you will feel like you are on a little time trip. We hope you will enjoy a "historical and romantic" walk through the town.

Full course / 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month

Tawarayama Master" guides you on a lunch tour to enjoy the hot springs!

This is a guided walk (lunch and hot spring bath ticket included) of Tawarayama Onsen by members of the Tawarayama Shittorukai. The "Tawarayama Masters," who know Tawarayama Onsen inside and out, will talk about the charms, history, and culture of Tawarayama Onsen in a light-hearted manner. After walking, learning, and laughing, enjoy a lunch of locally produced soba noodles at Tabeyama, a restaurant in the middle of the hot spring resort area. After lunch, you can sweat it out in the hot spring and enjoy the benefits of Tawarayama Onsen, which has been called the "Yokozuna of the West.

Visit the footprints of Misuzu Kaneko. Senzaki Guided Town Walk

This is a city tour on the theme of "Misuzu Kaneko," a children's song poet, led by the Nagato Volunteer Guide Association, which has been guiding visitors in Nagato City for many years. They will guide you through the world of Ms. Misuzu's poetry, Misuzu Street, and other places related to Kaneko Misuzu. Please follow in Misuzu's footsteps while listening to the stories of the guides who are full of love for the community. Open all year round (except for the year-end and New Year holidays)

Whale Culture Street Historic Site Tour

The Tong area of Qinghai Island, where the old-style whaling once flourished. The tour will take you on a tour of the remaining whale culture and history, with commentary by a guide. In addition to whale stories, you can also enjoy the unique streetscape of this fishing town. Tour dates: April to November
