Typhoon No . 24
Announced at 4:30 a.m. on September 28, 2018 Typhoon No. 24, a large and very strong typhoon, was about 420 km southeast of Miyako Island as of 3:00 a.m. on September 28, and is moving slowly to the northwest. The central pressure is 955 hPa and the maximum wind speed near the center is 45 m/s. The typhoon will reach 120 km east-southeast of Miyako Island at 3:00 a.m. on the 29th, and 80 km west-northwest of Amami-Oshima at 3:00 a.m. on the 30th. It is expected to reach the Hokuriku area at 3:00 a.m. on the 1st. The area around the typhoon and the areas in its path will be under severe storm and heavy rain, and the sea area in the path of the typhoon will be under severe drought conditions.
