Collaboration project with 5 cultural facilities in the city “Let’s know! Let’s learn! Let’s try it!

A special exhibition on the theme of the sea!

This summer, five cultural facilities in the city (Renaissa Nagato, Misuzu Kaneko Memorial Museum, Yasuo Kozuki Museum of Art, Seifu Murata Memorial Museum, and Whale Museum) will hold "sea" themed exhibitions and workshops. Workshop participants will also receive a commemorative gift. We hope to see you all there!

Renessa Nagato

Special Exhibition “They All Came from the Sea! -Nagato from the Sea” Exhibition

The city’s cultural facilities will introduce exhibits on the theme of the “sea” and hold an exhibition on Senzaki, a port of repatriation.

<Experience Workshop

In conjunction with the exhibition, hands-on workshops will be held at each cultural facility. Some programs require advance reservations, so please register as soon as possible.

*Preschool children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 

Let’s make a whale key chain” [Finished by popular demand

Let’s make original key chains using shells and beads!

July 24 (Monday), 26 (Wednesday), 28 (Friday), 10:00 – 11:00 each day

Making pebble paperweights.

Decorate stones on the shore of Nagato and make your own original paperweight!

Shingo Ozaki’s Painting Workshop – Let’s paint a whale” [Reservations required].

Try your hand at making a “whale” illustration with illustrator Shingo Ozaki!

Date & Time] Tuesday, August 8, 2011 (1) 10:00 – 12:00 (2) 13:00 – 15:30

(1) and (2) are the same program. Please choose the time slot that is most convenient for you.

Let’s make gel candles using sea shells and sea glass from the sea in Nagato! (Cooperation: Nagato City Misumi Youth Group)
