Historia Nagato Special Exhibition “Nagato City in the Edo Period: A Look at Materials Related to Mae-Otsu Zaiban and Sae-Otsu Zaiban!

Learn about Nagato City and its governance by the Mori clan during the Edo period.
During the Edo period, Yamaguchi Prefecture was divided into Suo and Nagato provinces and ruled by the Mori clan and its family.
The Mori clan also divided the country according to its own administrative units called "Saiban," and present-day Nagato City was divided into the "Maeotsu Saiban" and "Sakiootsu Saiban.
This exhibit introduces the Mori clan's rule along with old documents related to "Zaiban" that are tangible cultural properties of Nagato City.
