Winter in Nagano will begin.
Winter is the season for hot springs.
Nagato City has five hot spring resorts called "Five Famous Hot Springs," among which "Nagato Yumoto Onsen" with a 600-year history will undergo a major renovation in the spring of 2020. In addition, the "Sightseeing Bus Tour" is now available, offering sightseeing tours of "Motonosumi Shrine" and "Kakunoshima Ohashi Bridge (Shimonoseki City)" at a winter-only fare.

Bus tour to fully enjoy the sights (until 2/22)
The "Sightseeing Bus Tour: Highlights to Enjoy", a sightseeing bus tour of Nagato City and Shimonoseki City, which was held for the first time last year and was well received, will be held again this winter over a three-month period. Departing from Nagato City Station, this excursion takes visitors to Motonosumi Shrine, Kakunoshima Island, Senza Kitchen (Roadside Station), and Toyokita on the Kitaura Highway. New Year's Eve Zenzai at Senzaki Yasaka Shrine (12/31)
A New Year's Eve event will be held for the third time this year at "Yasaka Shrine" in Senzaki, sponsored by a local organization "Senzaki Youth Association." From around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, zenzai will be served, "DJ NIGHT" will be held, hot sake and coffee will be sold, and more.
Sunrise Climbing in the High Mountains of Qinghai Island (1/1)
On January 1, 2020 (New Year's Day), the annual New Year's Day "Sunrise Climbing" will be held at Takayama (高山) on Qinghai Island.
From the summit of the 319-meter-high mountain, you can also see the "Nami no Hashidate" and the "Maritime Alps" viewpoints of Qinghai Island. on the first day of the year 2020, please enjoy the view from the high mountain and the first sunrise.
Nagato Yumoto Onsen Renewal (Spring 2020)
The theme of Nagato Yumoto Onsen, which will be renewed in the spring of 2020, is a hot spring resort where visitors can enjoy strolling around.
On both banks of the Onshin River, which runs through the center of the ryokan district, the Hoshino Resort "Kai Nagato", the 600-year-old Onyu hot spring, and cafes and bars renovated from vacant houses are scheduled to open one after another.
Visitors can enjoy a relaxing time in a hot spring resort area with a sense of history and future, including the Otosoregawa Terrace, where you can relax while listening to the murmuring of a stream on the river.
KININARU Nagato Yuzukichi-no-Yu *Closed
Since the Edo period (1603-1867), there has been a custom in Japan to bathe in a "yuzu (citron) bath" on the winter solstice.
Footbaths using "Kiniru Nagato Yuzukichi," an aromatic citrus fruit produced in Tawarayama, Nagato City, were opened from December 19 (Thu.) to 22 (Sun.) at the "Otosore Footbath" located along the Otoshigawa River Park Footbath and River Walkway in Nagato Yumoto Onsen.
