Enjoy hot springs in winter!

Japan is experiencing another mild winter this year, and finally Nagato is starting to see a slight increase in the number of days with temperatures in the single digits.

There are five hot springs in Nagato City. How about taking a tour of Nagato's hot springs during your winter holiday?

Nagato Yumoto Onsen

Currently, Onyu, a drop-in hot spring, is undergoing renovations in preparation for its reopening in March 2020.
Therefore, day-trip bathing is only available at the respective inns and hotels.

Nagato Yumoto Onsen will be reborn as a "hot spring resort where you can enjoy strolling around.

Tawarayama Onsen

It is designated as one of only 21 national recreational hot springs in Japan.
Since most ryokans do not have indoor baths, guests can be seen in yukata in the hot spring resort area as they go to the outside baths.

This hot spring is said to be one of the best in western Japan in terms of radium content.

From the open-air bath, you can see a beautiful view of Fukagawa Bay, which is located in the Kita-Nagato Kaigan National Park, below.

Aburaya Bay Hot Spring

It has won the "moist skin category" in the hot spring general election for two years in a row. It is famous for its mild and beautiful water.
