Nishimura Tiles" from Nagato, used in Hagi Castle
The tiles of Hagi Castle, which was dismantled in the early Meiji period, include tiles produced by the Nishimura family, who once ran a tile business in Nagato.
The exhibit features a total of six tiles, including the "Nishimura Tile" and the high-end "Sakai Tile".
The tiles are stamped with an inscription indicating the maker, which can be seen through a loupe.
