Halloween costume event with a "Showa Retro" theme
Today (Saturday, October 28, 2023), "Nagato Retro" was held in front of JR Nagato City Station.
Nagatoretoro" is a costume Halloween event with a "Showa Retro" theme, and a one-day-only shopping street "Nagatoretoro Road" will appear in front of the station. A stage event and stalls will be set up in front of the station.
The event was organized by local people, including the Otsu STEAM Project, a volunteer group of students from the local Otsu Ryokuyo High School, and a local company, 3in Co.

The "Naga Toretoro" venue
The "Naga Toretoro" began at 12:30 p.m., and the opening event, a traditional Yamaguchi competition called "Mochimaki" (rice cake throwing), was held on stage at 1:00 p.m. The event was followed by the "Naga Toretoro" at 2:30 p.m.
Many stalls will be gathered on the shopping street "Nagatreto Road. Visitors can enjoy themselves with food and beverages, cosplay goods for sale, a photo studio, personality tests, and more.
Various retro goods will be placed throughout the venue to add to the "Showa Retro" atmosphere.
Both vendors and visitors enjoyed themselves in their own "Showa Retro" fashion.
Naga Retro Fashion Show"
From 3:00 p.m., the "Naga Retro Fashion Show" will also be held. First, high school students and teachers will show off their Showa Retro fashion with famous Showa songs in the background.
There was also a jump-in slot for visitors who came on the day of the event. Everyone showed their costumes with great enthusiasm.
The event was a great success, with many people coming not only from Nagato City, but also from within and outside of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
New design of the wall inside the JR Nagato City Station and overpass is also unveiled.
Before the event began, a ceremony was held to unveil the new design of the wall inside the bridge over the JR Nagato Station. The new wall design by Mr. Miura of the "Otsu STEAM Project" was unveiled on the same day.
