The Akasaki Shrine Grand Festival with a history of over 400 years, featuring "Akasaki Gakujanjiki" as the stage.

The Grand Festival of Akasaki Shrine is held at the Akasaki Shrine Rakujiki, a nationally designated Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property in the Higashi-Fukawa area. The origin of the festival dates back to around 1596 (Keicho 1), when a plague of cattle and horses broke out and people prayed to Akasaki Shrine, which is dedicated to the guardian god of agriculture, for their wishes to be granted and a dance was dedicated to express gratitude to the gods for their favor. The festival has been passed down for more than 400 years, and today it is known as an autumn festival with
the dedication of "Raku Odori" and "Yumoto Nanjo Odori" as the main events, and stalls lining the festival grounds.
